**Consumer Credit File Rights Under State and Federal Law**

This document is provided to you as required by the federal Credit Repair Organizations Act

(CROA) and any applicable state law. You have specific rights under the FCRA and state laws

to ensure that your credit report accurately reflects your creditworthiness.

**Your Right to Obtain a Copy of Your Credit Report**

Under federal law, you have the right to a copy of your credit report from each credit reporting

agency every 12 months. You also have the right to a free copy of your credit report if you've

been denied credit, insurance, or employment within the last 60 days due to information on

your credit report.

**Your Right to Dispute Inaccurate Information**

You have the right to dispute any information on your credit report that you believe is

inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. You can dispute this information directly with the credit

bureau, and the credit bureau must investigate the items in question—usually within 30 days—

unless they consider your dispute frivolous.

**Accurate Information Can be Reported**

Accurate negative information can generally be reported for seven years, except for bankruptcy

information, which can be reported for 10 years, and information reported in response to an

application for a job with a salary of more than $75,000 or an application for more than

$150,000 worth of credit or life insurance.

**Rights Against Credit Repair Companies**

Credit repair organizations are prohibited from taking any action that you could not take for

yourself for free. These organizations are also prohibited from charging you until they have

completed the promised services.

**The Right to Cancel a Contract with a Credit Repair Organization**

You have the right to cancel any contract with a credit repair organization for any reason within

three business days from the date you signed it.

**Credit Repair Organizations Must Provide a Written Contract**

A credit repair organization must provide you with a written contract that details the services

they'll perform, how long it will take to achieve results, the total cost, and any guarantees they

offer.

**Prohibition on Misleading Statements**

Credit repair organizations are not allowed to make false claims or statements about their

services, including promising to remove negative but accurate and verifiable information from

your credit report.

**State Law Rights**

In addition to your federal rights, you may have additional rights under state law. You may wish
